1 Mohawk Trail, Massachusetts
People come from afar to admire the beautiful colors of the trees of New England in the fall (especially in September and October). Many secondary roads connect the towns of this region, to immerse themselves in nature to admire the beautiful colors - brown, red or russet - that color leaves. The Mohawk Trail (MA 2) stretches for 100 km through the beautiful region of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Dotted with villages rub restaurants, art galleries and tourist shops, it leads, after a steep climb, the summit of Mount Greylock, from where the panorama (giving four states) is remarkable.
Stop by Western Summit Overlook viewpoint located east of North Adams, and go through the wigwam to find a souvenir or melted caramel.
2 Highway 61, the road to the Grand River
Physical demarcation line as far as symbolic between East and West, the Mississippi River is the cradle of American music. It is bordered by a legendary route: Route 61 from Minneapolis leading south to St. Louis and Memphis (the city of the King). She then reached the Mississippi Delta, the birthplace of the blues, and finally New Orleans, where jazz was born. Directions to 1930 km, which will satisfy lovers of the river as music lovers. These will, however, fully satisfied only after the 650km detour leading to Nashville, the capital of the country.
Mississippi stretches 3,734 kilometers. It takes its source in Minnesota and flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

3 Pacific Coast Highway, California
What better way to experience California as browsing the beautiful scenic route? The Pacific Coast Highway (also known as PCH or Hwy 1) along the west coast of the United States from the Mexican border to Washington state, never deviate for long from the ocean. From San Diego, head north and cross the entire Golden State, preferably aboard a convertible. Take time to enjoy the scenery and to halt around good food in some of the towns through. You can also observe elephant seals, swim in small coves and napping in the shade of giant redwoods.
Plan to stop in Los Angeles and San Francisco, essential steps, but also in Laguna Beach, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Monterey and Mendocino.
4 Route 66
How not to start with the Mother Road? Also known as "Main Street of America", it stretches more than 3200 km between Chicago and Los Angeles through the Midwest, the Great Plains and the Southwest United States. Built in 1926, when it was the road of hope, leading to the Promised Land (California), as described in Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. Although the US-66 was officially decommissioned, it can still go long stretches. This route takes you to the mythical heart of America nostalgic, dotted with diners and kitschy vintage motels sprung straight from the 1950s.
Performed originally by Nat King Cole, the famous song (Get Your Kicks on) Route 66 was taken up by many groups, including the Rolling Stones.
